Review of 1000-Thread-Count Egyptian Cotton 1000TC Sheet Set, King, Brown Solid 1000 TC

We purchased two sheet sets from this vendor - both 1000TC, one set gold damask stripe, the other solid brown.Both sets are outstanding.The fabric is really nice.It's a fairly thick heavy cotton - it's actually comparable to flannel, but without the sticky furry feel.The fabric is soft but crisp.It washes just fine in the washer.There is elastic all the way around on the fitted sheet.

The gold is a very warm color - on the orangy side.The brown is best described as pastel brown - sort of a chocolate mousse or latte color.It's very pretty.We are very happy with both sets of sheets.

These make great sheets for any mattress - We're using 8 sets in rotation on our two Cal king waterbeds - the fitted sheet over a fitted "bedsack" style mattress pad provide supreme comfort and also allowed me to turn down both beds' heaters by 10 - 12 degrees and save energy. Wash them in cool water and mid temp tumble dry, they keep getting softer. they say "Made in Egypt" and "Egyptian Cotton" not from China!
HOWEVER - the colors depicted in these photos is way, way off the actual colors, they need to be updated.

I absolutely love these sheets! I've had them more than a year and they stayed nice through multiple washes and are wonderfully soft to lay about in!It's also a good weight and I have even been thinking about buying multiples because the quality is great and the gold I got is a nice rich color that matches my periwinkle duvet to perfection.

I recently bought this sheet set - very soft and good value for the price point. Quality product.I wasn't able to find anything remotely close to this at bed bath and beyond. In comparison, the BBBY 300 TC sheet set was 100 bucks. Am looking to buy from this merchant / manufacturer again.

These sheets were like sandpaper. Couldn't even compare to my 500ct! These were cheap sheets that read "1000 ct". I was emailed back promptly about a return and asked to give a tracking number (which they didn't provide me when I was being shipped the item in the first place). However I although my package was received by them I am yet to be refunded! Get your sheets somewhere else!

I've been sleeping on 1000+ thread count sheets exclusively for 2 years now.Every single set I have has been purchased via Amazon.Com.So, sight unseen, I trust that product descriptions are accurate, and I've always been happy with my purchases.Until now.

There is no WAY that these sheets are 1000 thread count!Actually, they're sold as 1000 tc, but the card inside the package says they're 1200 tc.The tag on the sheets themselves, however, says only "100% Egyptian Cotton".No manufacturer, no clue as to thread count, totally generic.Nothing.

These sheets are flimsy, scratchy, and entirely below my expectations.The closest comparison I can find is to liken them to cheap hospital sheets.Or possibly 200 thread count sheets like what you can find at Kmart.They're really that thin!

I slept on them uncomfortably for one night, then washed them with lots of fabric softener and tried to put them on my bed again.No dice.They're horrible and I can't stand the feel of them on my skin. And on visual analysis, compared to the 1000 tc sheets I already own?They're FAR substandard.

I would send them back, but after all that I've done to them to try to get what I paid for, I don't know that the company would even accept them.So I've decided to save them for *that* time of the month (so it won't matter if they get stained) and/or guests (although I'm not sure if I even want to subject my guests to their rough, scratchy texture.)

I will never buy from this company again, and I suggest that you learn from my negative experience and do the same.There are many bedding retailers on Amazon who actually deliver the high quality that they promise.

I give them 2 stars instead of 1 only because 1: They arrived relatively quickly, so the shipping is fast.And 2: They're BIG and have LOTS of room for thick mattresses and to allow me to wash on hot with bleach if I need to without worrying about shrinkage~which is usually a worry with high thread count sheets.

Even with those allowances though...I'm utterly disappointed and I'll never buy from this company again.

Review of 1000-Thread-Count Egyptian Cotton 1000TC Sheet Set, Olympic Queen, Ivory Solid 1000 TC

The seller claims that these sheets have a very high thread count (1,000 T-C), which would make them very soft. They are not at all soft. In addition, when I received them, I put them on the bed and they barely fit, but the fitted sheet did just tuck under the mattress and the top sheet came down to just below the bottom of the mattress on either side, so I decided to keep them. After one washing (as directed by the instructions: cold water wash, low temperature drier), they no longer fit the mattress. The seller claims that they fit very deep mattresses (14"-20"), but after the one wash, the fitted sheet only comes down about two thirds the depth of the mattress and my mattress is only 12" deep. The top sheet only comes down about 8" from either side of the top, so it can't be tucked in and it only fully covers one person in the bed. The seller claims that the top sheet is 92" wide, but it is only 82" wide.

I called the seller and he was very nice, but only offered a 50% refund if I kept the sheets. I told him that the sheets were of no use to me and I wanted a full refund, including shipping, and I would send them back to him. He told me that, because I had washed the sheets (who would sleep on them unwashed?), he could not return them to the manufacturer and he would be out the full cost. Finally, he agreed to refund the full amount, but when the refund showed up, it did not include the shipping. So I have paid shipping (not a huge amount: $7.49) for something that is not what the manufacturer/seller has advertised. The seller asked me not to write a review, but I felt that it was unfair to keep this information from prospective buyers and I also felt that he didn't keep his promise to give me a full refund.

In spite of the fit problems, I have used the sheets now for a few months. They are a pain because the fitted sheet keeps slipping up and off and the bottom sheet doesn't provide enough coverage. The bottom sheet is also too short and barely tucks under the bottom of the mattress, so my feet get uncovered during the night. I have only used the sheets because Olympic Queen is difficult to find and the ones of decent quality are outrageously expensive (because of the unusual size, I suppose). So, while I did get mostly free sheets, they don't fit properly. This puts me in the position to either spend $300 for a good quality set or use sheets that don't do the job. I now have washed the sheets many times and they are no softer than they were when I first got them.

Bottom line: For $99 you will get sheets that don't fit and are stiff, and customer service that is friendly, but doesn't come through. I feel bad for the seller because he lost his money, but he needs to buy his products from reliable manufacturers.
