Some months ago we decided to up the elegance, i.e. upgrade from paper towel "napkins" to cloth napkins. But I was quite sure that I didn't want to start accumulating little nests of cloth that require ironing, so these napkins were among the first I bought.
Out of the box, it was clear the the long threads in the weave would snag on about anything, including dry hands (not unusual in places where the humidity is pretty low). The slick texture reminded me more of a shower curtain fabric than of table linen; in fact, these napkins successfully repel water. It happens, though, that I prefer kitchen linens -- all of them -- to be able to absorb water instead of repelling it.
I'm one of those Mrs Fussypants-types who launders napkins and place mats after each use, so these have toured the washing machine a number of times already. Laying them out to dry flat seemed to encourage puckering, so my routine has been to dry them on low temperature for just a few minutes and then lay them flat to dry. Even at that, I consider touch up ironing a necessity. This being the case, it has been easy to lean toward fabrics that have at least some cotton. If ironing has to be done (and in middle age I'm discovering that I like *simple* ironing like napkins and pillow cases!), I might as well do it for a cause that feels better in the hand than these do.
It disappointed me considerably that after just a couple of uses, one of the napkins picked up a stain (fat-based, I would guess)that cannot be budged. I'm having far better luck maintaining napkins such as Waterford Table Wiltshire 21 by 21-Inch Napkin Set of 4, Pomegranate/Gold, which have only 40% polyester.
One last thought. These napkins measure about 18"x18". The Waterfords noted above are 21"x21". That doesn't sound like a big difference, but the math will show you these are 117 square inches smaller than the Waterfords. If there are four of you at table, it means that the smaller size provides 3.25 LESS square feet of napkin coverage. Cloth napkins are a case where I think bigger is almost always better.
Why isn't this a one star review? There isn't much I like about these, but the product seems safe and what strikes me as off -- slick texture, for instance -- might be someone else's happy day. If I can make progress on those spots, these will probably end up at St Vinnie's, which I never do with a product that I deemed unsafe.

I purchased two of these tablecloths - they are truly beautiful.I have been looking for a "RED" - true "RED" - and this was it.Bought so many prior but they were always too dark.Sometimes the photos do not show the REAL color.If you want RED - this is it.Wash great and have not had a stain yet.
I recieved this as a gift and was worried about how it would wash. I hate ironing something this big.It washed up beautifully and I took it from the drier slightly damp and carefully folded it to fit on a wide hanger and let it hang dry.Didn't even need to iron it!Really beautiful on the table.
The first set of red napkins I ordered were delivered and were exactly as depicted on the website. I subsequently ordered a second set and when they were delivered they were not red napkins but red/green/white napkins. I called this error into Amazon and was sent a replacement set of napkins. When the replacement set arrived they too were red/green/white napkins despite having been ordered from the exact same site and description as the first correct set. I returned both wrong sets and gave up on ordering another set of Lenox red napkins.
This table runner with the napkins and Lenox Chirp china make an elegant statement. I haven't washed it yet, so I don't yet know how long it will keep its look.
These placemats are beautiful and definitely complement the table cover and napkins.My table is elegant to say the least.

Not only is the pattern on the tablecloth elegant, the material feels substantial.The best part is that when you take it out of the dryer, it doesn't need ironing.I have purchased the tablecloth and napkins and am very pleased with all of the products.
I purchased this beautiful pattern to replace my ten year old Mikasa UltraCeram for every day use, as I had grown tired of the Mikasa pattern.I have had the "Braided Scroll" for six months now, using it every day, and it has more chips than the Mikasa had in ten years of use. As pretty as this pattern is, it simply doesn't stand up to daily use in the dishwasher.In addition, because it is thicker than many patterns, it is difficult to load in even a newer dishwasher like mine.I purchased only five of the 12 place setting I eventually wanted, but will not be completing the set due to the durability issue.

I'm not sure how I feel about this tablecloth. The pattern is a bit commercial looking, and it is shiny. Elegant in a way, but somehow I don't find myself using it as often as my other linens.
I was quite pleased.We've had it a week.It washes well.It looks nice and has a nice cottony feel that I like.The price is right.I would buy it again.
